Week 2

Hello again! I don't know if anyone checks this, but I thought I would post some progress! So far we are up to 2.7 miles! This Saturday we will hit 3 miles! We are using the 3 min running/1 min walking followed by 5 minutes of running/1 walking. That is after a warmup and active stretching!

I can't wait to hear how your second runs go!

Welcome to my Couch to 5K Group

Hi Everyone!

I am excited for a new class to train for a 5k. You will be amazed at the progress you will make in 5 weeks! On the first day of class, you ran around 2.4 miles in an average of 35 minutes. For your second run you should be able to run a little further and a little longer!

Let me know how your second run goes. Remember you are doing 3 min running/1 min walking. Everyone's report will be a little different.

I can't wait to hear! We will be meeting on Saturday at 7am at the high school where the stoplight is. :-)

Need new updates

Alright ladies! I want to know how you are doing! The Give n Gobble is in 2 weeks. How do you feel? You should be able to do 25 minutes comfortably now. If not, keep trying. Go a little slower if you need to.

Next week, for your 3 days I want you to do 28 minutes all 3 days. Then I want to hear how it goes. If you put in the effort, you will see results, I promise.

I hope to hear from you soon. Good luck in class on Monday!

25 minute run

Hey everyone! I am not making it to the gym today due to a sick 2 year old and me feeling under the weather also. So, I was hoping to get some reports here on how your 25 minute run went. If you haven't done it yet, I know you can! Just do a short warmup, a few skips, and then turn on some music and take it as slow as you need to.

Good luck and let us know how you do!

Week 3 workout

Finished workout #3 for this week last night -- and it felt pretty good.
I ran really slow, with a two minute break right in the middle, for 30 minutes.
Moving the strength training to the end of my workout has certainly made a difference,
now if I could just resist the goodies I'd be on track. :) :)

I am going to try and squeeze in another run this weekend, just to make up for the cupcakes!

Starting over

I'm feeling really bummed because I have been sick and havn't run for about a week and a half. So my fear is that I am having to start over and am going to be way behind everyone else. I was always the last anyways. So just have patience with me and hopefully I will get my motivation back real soon. I hope everyone else is doing great and reaching your goals.

Introductions

I see we have Coach Katie and Krista from the Monday night Couch to 5K joining us- welcome! I would encourage everyone to post their own introduction. You can comment on this post, or you can make a post just for you with pictures of you. I look forward to getting to know all of you through the blog and through our runs. Let me know if there is anything I can do!
